East Stroudsburg South at Delaware Valley (2010 Varsity)

On Friday, September 10 2010 at 7 p.m., the DV Warriors beat East Stroudsburg South by a score of 24 - 21.

Excitement filled the air at Warrior Stadium as the Warriors kicked off thier first home game last night against the East Stroudsburg Cavaliers. Adding to the excitement of thier first home game, the night began with the 4th Annual "Warrior Festival".

The Warriors made thier way into the Stadium through a tunnel of enthusiastic PAYAL and DFL players and cheerleaders lining the walk from the locker rooms to the stadium.
After winning the coin toss, the Cavaliers elected to recieive the ball. The Warrior defense forced a three and out.

Coach Olsommer orchestrated DV"s first drive with a balanced attack on the Cav's defense, combining DV's strong running game with the strong arm of sophomore QB, Bryan Schor. The drive was completed with a TD pass made by Schor to WR Bobby Morley. Joe Hunt kicks the extra point and Del Vall takes the lead.

The ensuing kick off is recovered by DV's Dylan Brown and the Warriors retain possession. DV kicker, Joe Hunt made a 40 yd field goal attempt which sailed just outside the uprights.The Warriors stuck to a running game keeping the Cavalier offense off the field through most of the first half.
With minutes remaining in the half, East Stroudsburg went to thier passing game. QB, Mike Carmella completes a 20 yd pass to #19, Frankie Zayas for a touchdown. Extra point good leaving the score tied 7-7 at the half.

DV starts off the second half with a 60 yard drive downfield driven by DV RB Chris Cohen, culminating in a successful field goal by Joe Hunt to put the Warriors back on top.
East Stroudsburg anwsers back with TD pass to TE James Coscia. Extra point good, Cavaliers take a 14-10 lead.

Delaware Valley's offense line, lead by Brandon Clemons and Josh Reynolds clears the way for RB Martin Strenk to eat up the yards downfield. DV FB Adam Manzoni punches a hole in the line for Strenk's 6 yd run into the endzone giving the lead back to the Warriors early in the 4th quarter.
The Cavaliers come back when Carmella completes a 17 yard TD pass to Kyshoen Jarrett.
On the Warriors following drive facing a 3rd and 10, QB Bryan Schor finds TE Connor Decker for a 24 yd pass, keeping the Warriors in posession and leading to Schors 3yd TD run with 5 minutes left to play.

Capping off the final few minutes, the Warrior defense shuts down the Cavaliers with a QB sack by Josh Reynolds. A second attack on the ESS QB by Brandon Clemons seals the fate of the Cavaliers and hands another victory to the Warriors.
Final Score - DV-24 ESS-21.
