Scranton at Delaware Valley (2010 Varsity)

On Friday, October 22 2010 at 7 p.m., the DV Warriors beat Scranton by a score of 38 - 7.

School spirit was in the air on Homecoming Night at Warrior Staduim!
All week students participated in school spirit activities planned by the DV Student Council.
Students and fans packed the stands to cheer for the team and to find out who would be crowned Homecoming King and Queen.
After a week of school spirit and a tough loss to Valley View last Friday, the Warriors were determined to pull out the win against the Scranton Knights.

Scranton winds up scoring first on a short run by RB, Joe McCarthy.

DV's answer? Bryan Schor. Schor completes a 30yd pass to Jeremy Reynolds who takes it to the house! Joe Hunt makes the kick and the score is tied up at the end of the first quarter.

The Warrior defense halts the Knights progress and the ball is turned over on the 40 yd line.
A great 35 yd pick up by Chris Cohen puts the Warriors deep in Knight territory. Schor completes a long pass to Connor Decker and the Warriors are looking at 1st and goal.
A penalty would push the Warriors back, but on the next play, Schor hands off to Jeremy Reynolds who jukes a couple of defenders, turns on the burners and scores his second TD of the night.
Hunt comes through with the extra point and the Warriors are in the lead!

Later in the 2nd qtr, Bryan Schor completes a 32 yd pass to Kyle Zimnick, follows up with another completion to Bob Morely to set DV up on the 4yd line.
Chris Cohen follows his block into the endzone for another DV touchdown. Extra point, good.

Scranton moves downfield hoping to score again before the half. QB, Matt DeFaris's pass intended for Joe McCarthy is intercepted by Marc Wagner and DV leads 21-7 at the half.

Fans cheered during halftime as the Homecoming Queen was chosen and the winner of the King of Legs contest announced.
Congratulations to Colleen Fagan, our 2010 Homecoming Queen, and to Dan Balton our 2010 King of Legs!
The King of Legs contest raised almost $700.00 that will be donated to the Milford Food Pantry.

The Warriors return to the field. John Harsch and Cory Savarese deep to receive. John Harsch makes the catch and gives the Warriors great field position at the Knights 42.
DV is forced to punt, but the Warrior defense keeps the Knights from advancing. An interception made by Chris Cohen returns the ball to the Warriors and DV begins their drive on Scranton's 25.
A few plays later and Cohen scores his second TD of the night.

As the 3rd quarter winds down, Joe Hunt makes a 35 yd field goal to put DV on top, 31-7.

Early in the 4th qtr, Cory Savarese returns a punt 75 yds. A great block by Bob Morely helped clear the way for Savarese before he is pushed out of bounds just shy of the goal line.
Chris Cohen pushed through the defensive line to score again for DV. Hunt kicks the extra point.

The Warrior defense did a great job. Shout out to Max Gonzales whose name was announced frequently during the night for flying around the field making tackles!

A fun filled week of Homecoming activities is capped off with a great night at Warrior Stadium and the win over Scranton 38-7!

Thanks to the DV Student Council for all the hard work they put into making our 2010 Homecoming week a huge success!
