Scranton Prep at Delaware Valley (2010 Varsity)

On Friday, October 29 2010 at 7 p.m., the DV Warriors beat Scranton Prep by a score of 21 - 6.

It was a bittersweet night at Warrior Stadium as 13 senior players took the walk from the locker room onto their home field for the last time.

Prior to game-time, our senior players, cheerleaders and band members were escorted onto the field by their families to celebrate Senior Night.
After the acknowledgments, amid handshakes, hugs, and well wishes, the senior players hustled to rejoin their team and prepare for their final home game against Scranton Prep.

Early in the first quarter Scranton Prep gains some momentum as they drive the ball down-field. Brandon "Big Daddy" Clemons makes a big 4th down stop to end the Cavaliers drive.

Bryan Schor completes a 40 yd pass to Connor Decker, but the Warriors come up short on 3rd down.
Joe Hunt is called in to kick a field goal but the ball falls just shy of the uprights leaving both teams scoreless at the end of the first quarter.

Three minutes into the 2nd quarter, Preps QB, George Pachucy, completes a 13 yd touchdown pass to Pat Fricke. The extra point is no good.

DV answers back with a strong drive down-field ending with Chris Cohen into the endzone for a DV TD! Joe Hunt kicks the extra point and DV is on top 7-6 at the half.

As the Warriors begin thier first drive of the second half, Schors pass is picked off and possession turns over to the Cavaliers.
The Warrior defense holds strong. Brandon Clemons sacks Pachucy for a loss. Good pass coverage ends Preps advance and DV takes over.

DV can't get the first down and Adam Manzoni goes in to punt. The punt is blocked in the backfield and Prep takes over on DV's 40 yd line.

Two plays later, Warrior defensive end, Adam Manzoni intercepts Pachucy's pass and the Warriors are back in control.

The Warriors come up short again on the ensuing drive, but John Harsch recovers a fumble returning the ball to the Warriors.

This time the Warriors make good on the possession.
Martin Strenk carries the ball down-field on a series of runs that sets up DV on the 2.
Chris Cohen blows through the defensive line for another TD! The extra point is good.

The Warrior defense is fired up and Pachucy is sacked again, this time Brian Whitehead and John Conelley deliver the hit and the Cavaliers are looking at 4th and 11.

DV takes the ball and works their way towards the end-zone. Martin Strenk cuts through the line and runs it 9 yds to score again for DV. Hunt makes the extra point.

DV's offense keeps on the move as senior RB Justin Beach runs for 22 rushing yards before time runs out.

The Warriors get the win over Scranton Prep 21-6.
Victorious, thirteen seniors walk off the field and through their home crowd with thier team for the last time.
