Delaware Valley at East Stroudsburg South (2011 Varsity)
On Friday, September 09 2011 at 7 p.m., the DV Warriors beat East Stroudsburg South by a score of 28 - 13.
Glad to be back home and playing in front of their fans, the Warriors traveled to East Stroudsburg South to play the Cavaliers in week 2 of our season.
The Cavaliers were first to score with an 11 yd run midway into the first quarter.
DV answers back with Bryan Schor connecting with Kyle Zimnick for an 18 yd. TD pass. Joe Hunt comes through with the extra point and the score is tied 7-7.
Late in the first quarter, Jeremy Engel makes a tackle for a 5 yd loss forcing the Cav's to punt. The ensuing Warrior drive starts with a huge gain by RB Joe Santiago who almost makes it into the endzone before being brought down just shy of the goal line.
Bryan Schor finds Bob Morely in the endzone for another Warrior touchdown.
A 46 yard pick up by South's QB, Keith Hinds, puts the Cav's deep in DV territory. Cody Sebring intercepts Hinds' TD pass in the endzone and the Warriors move the ball downfield.
The ball is fumbled and returned to the Cavaliers but Joe Harsch is there to intercept another of Hinds' TD passes.
Warrior QB, Bryan Schor completes a pass to Bob Morely who takes it the the Cav's 15 yd. line. A fumble on the next play turns the ball over to South.
With less than 2 minutes left in the half, Jeremy Engel sacks the QB for a loss of 10. The Warriors take over, drive the ball downfield and with 3 seconds left in the half, Scor completes a 16 yd TD pass to Zimnick. Joe Hunt kicks the extra point and the Warriors are on top 21-7 going into the half.

Trailing by 21, the Cavaliers catch a break when Schors pass is intercepted leading to a touchdown by Tyler McLaughlin.
DV Lineman Mark Ranuado blocks the extra point attempt.
With only minutes left to play, South's RB breaks away for what could have been a TD if not for the speed of Joe Harsch who drags the runner down at the Warriors 8 yard line.
Del Val's Joe Basile ends the Cavaliers hopes of scoring with another endzone interception.
Final score 28-13 Delaware Valley!
