West Scranton at Delaware Valley (2011 Varsity)

On Saturday, September 24 2011 at 4 p.m., the DV Warriors beat West Scranton by a score of 30 - 13.

The grand finale of a week of Homecoming festivities took place at Delaware Valley on Saturday!
The Warrior Football Boosters hosted the 5th annual Warrior Festival as part of the Homecoming events this year making for a fun-filled day at Warrior Stadium.
Student organizations, non-profit groups and local businesses all took part in spreading Warrior Spirit!
A good time was had by all as students and fans wandered through the festival sampling great food, playing games and cheering on our student athletes.
Our Warrior team fed off the excitement of the crowd as they prepared to play the West Scranton Invaders.
Fans packed Warrior Stadium at kick-off time.
The Warriors won the coin toss and deferred to the second half.
After a scoreless 1 st quarter, the Warriors scored early in the second on a QB sneak by Brian Schor.
West takes over but the Warrior defense forces the Invaders to punt.<br>
Nick McIntyre returned the punt 42 yards for a touchdown. Hunt kicks in the extra point.
West Scranton's Dylan Lindberg cathes a 32 yard pass putting the Invaders within striking distance of the end zone.
Del Val's Corey Savarese ends West Scranton's drive with a end zone interception.
The Warriors take over on their own 20 yard line with 5 minutes left in the half.
A 35 yard pass completion to Kyle Zimnick put the Warriors on the Invaders 45 yard line.
A series of ground eating runs by Martin Strenk falls just short of a first down and Joe Hunt is called in to kick a 35 yd. field goal. The ball flies to the left of the uprights and the Warriors head to the locker room up 14-0 at the half.
The halftime show included the crowning of our Homecoming King and Queen.
Congratulations to Joe Harsch our 2011 King of Legs and to Ashley Tucker our 2011 Homecoming Queen!
On the DV's first drive of the second half Joe Hunt is called in again for another field goal attempt. This time the kick is good and the Warriors lead 17-0.
West Scranton's Malcolm Sweeting scores for the Invaders on a 42 yard run. The extra point is good.
DV scores again on thier next drive with a 2 yd run around the outside by Joe Santiago. The kick is blocked. And the score is 23-7 at the end of the third quarter.
The Invaders score again early in the 4th quarter with a 63 yard pass from Dylan Lindberg to reciever Malcom Sweeting. The Invadrers attempt a 2 point conversion but the pass is incomplete.
Corey Savarese returns the kick off 65 yards giving DV great field position.
Schor gets sacked on 3rd down and the Warriors try again for a field goal. The kick falls just shy of the posts.
With 5 minutes left in the game, Joe Harsch, our King of Legs, intercepts a pass giving DV possession on their own 45.
A few plays later, Lucas Markowitz catches a 46 yard pass from Brian Schor. The kick is good and the Warriros lead 30-13.
The Invaders drive dowfield, find themselves in scoring position, but Connor Decker intercepts Sweeting's touchdown pass.
The game ends with a 30-13 Homecoming win for the home team!
Our cheerleaders have a long standing tradition of doing a push up for every point the boys score. At this rate we'll have the buffest cheerleaders in the league!
