Delaware Valley at Abington Heights (2011 Varsity)

On Saturday, October 01 2011 at 1 p.m., the DV Warriors beat Abington Heights by a score of 20 - 14.

The chilly, rainy day may have deterred some tailgaters, but not our Warrior team as they took the field in “The Pit” at Abington Heights this Saturday.

Abington was first to score on a 12 yd pass from QB Dante Pasqualchio to JC Show.

The score remained 7-0 through most of the first half until John Harsch broke through the Comet defense taking it 26 yards to the end zone for a Warrior TD with 25 seconds left in the half. The extra point was good leaving the Warriors tied at the half 7-7.

With 5 minutes left in the 3rd, John Harsch puts the DV in the lead with a 6 yard touchdown pass from Brian Schor. Joe Hunt kicks in the extra point.

The Comets answer back with a touchdown pass caught by Sean Sanderson, tying up the score as they head into the fourth quarter.

Warrior fans weren’t feeling the chill as the defense turned up the heat in the fourth quarter.

Brian Schor completes a 50 yard touchdown pass to Kyle Zimnick to put the Warriors on top 20-14.
The extra point is no good.

Abington drove the ball down to the Warrior 21 but Marc Wagner intercepted Pasqualchio’s pass to end the drive.

DV was forced to punt and the Comets again found the end zone within reach. Team Captain, John Harsch, came up big for the Warriors when he jumped on a fumble returning the ball to the Warriors.

With both teams desperate for the win, the Warrior defense came out on top. The Warriors protect their unbeaten record as they walk out of “The Pit”, with a 20-14 victory over the Comets.

Great job boys!!
