Delaware Valley at Downingtown East (2016 Varsity)

On Friday, August 26 2016 at 7 p.m., the DV Warriors lost to Downingtown East by a score of 6 - 23.

DOWNINGTOWN — Bryce Lauletta threw for 179 yards and three touchdowns as Downingtown East defeated No. 1 Delaware Valley, 23-6, Friday night at Kottmeyer Stadium.

Ethan Harris was Lauletta’s favorite target. He caught three passes — all touchdowns — for 71 yards in the first half.

Downingtown East’s 23-0 lead at the break proved too much for the Warriors.

Kyle Dillon ran for 120 yards and had two receptions for 30 yards, and quarterback Matt Cavallaro threw for 207 yards on 10 completions and ran for his team’s only score in the fourth quarter.

Dylan Kelly led the receivers with 96 yards on three catches.

Harris scored on receptions of 5, 41 and 6 yards and the Cougars recorded a safety in the first half.

Rory Matz had an interception for Delaware Valley.

In addition to Downingtown East’s productive passing game, Daniel Liaudaitis contributed 112 yards on 26 carries.

Delaware Valley outgained the Cougars, 343-298.

Downingtown East took a 7-0 lead on Harris’ 5-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter.

The lead moved to 21-0 when Lauletta found Harris for a 41-yard score and again on a 6-yard touchdown in the second quarter.

Cavallaro broke up the shutout on a 4-yard run in the fourth.
